Rashtriya Military School, Belgaum was founded on December 30, 1945, in Belgaum (then Bombay province) as King George VI Royal Indian Military College, this was the fourth such institution in India. 3. Rashtriya Military School, Bengaluru

Rashtriya Military School, Bengaluru established on August 1, 1946, as King George Royal Indian Military College, the school served the sons of defence personnel from South India, preparing cadets from III to VI form for the Army's Special Examination. Initially, it had three houses: Coot, Give, and Cornwallis.

In September 1952, the school opened to the sons of commissioned officers and civilians, and was renamed King George's School with the motto "Play the Game." It joined the Indian Public School Conference and prepared cadets for the Senior Cambridge Examination until 1962. The houses were renamed Rajaji, Nehru, and Mountbatten (later Tagore and Shastri).
