Agneepath Scheme 2022 - The biggest change in the Indian Army

Indian Army is the second largest army in the world. A young man gets admitted at the age of 18-20 years, and as he is above 40, he has enough experience, but he is not able to remain as physically active, there are many reasons behind this like posting in high altitude, Injuries during duty etc. The average age of the Indian Army at present is 32 years. But since the corona epidemic has come, the recruitment of new soldiers in the Armed Forces has stopped, but retirement has not stopped.

Due to this there has been a shortage of man power in all the three armies and the average age of the soldiers has also increased. According to a report by the Ministry of Defense, there are more than one lakh vacancies of JCOs/ORs in the Indian Army alone. To overcome these shortcomings and to recruit youth in the Armed Forces, the Government of India has come up with a new scheme named 'Agneepath':-

This scheme has been specially started for those youths who want to serve the country. Under this scheme, youth will be recruited in the army for 4 years, which means that now the soldiers will also be able to do short service, till now only officers could do short service. 25% will be recruited in the army permanently on passing the re-examination.

The jawans who will be recruited under this scheme will be called Agniveer.

Agnivero's salary will be fixed along with risk and hardship allowances.

  • After 4 years, they will be given a service fund package.
  • 46,000 Agniveers will be recruited this year.
  • Recruitment rallies will start in 90 days.

Who can apply?

  • Under this scheme, youth of 17.5 years to 21 years can apply.
  • For Soldier / GD, it will be mandatory to pass 10th class.

How much will you get salary?

Their salary will start from Rs 30,000 per month and will increase every year and will increase to Rs 40,000 per month in the fourth year. Risk and hardship allowances will be there separately. During these four years, 30% of their salary will be deposited in the service fund program every month. The central government will deposit the same amount in their account. We explain to you the amount of Agniveer's salary and service fund through a table.
