How to transfer or close PLI policy?

In the year 2017, some decisions were taken for major changes in the Indian Army. The committee of Lieutenant General Setkar submitted its report in which suggestions were made to make changes in Military Farms, Army Education Corps and Army Postal Service. In the event of the closure of the Army Postal Service, there is a need to discontinue or transfer Postal Life Insurance (PLI). Today we will tell you how you can easily close or transfer your PLI policy easily.

Documents required to transfer PLI

  • PLI Policy Bond
  • Post office address where the policy is to be transferred.

To transfer a PLI policy, you first have to write an application to the PLI Office (Nearby Army Postal Office). The format of the application is given below.

After filling this application, you submit it to the nearest Army Post Office and also submit the Xerox copy of the bond if required. Thus within a month your PLI policy will be transferred to the nearest Civil Post Office. After transfer to the civil post office, you will have to go to the post office and pay the premium every month. The premium is not deducted from your salary after transfer to the Civil Post Office. You can also pay the premium online with the help of net banking.

How to surrender on completion of PLI policy?

If your policy is about to be completed or has been completed, then you can claim your money by depositing your bond at the nearest Army Postal Office. For this, you have to write an application with the bond to the post office and within 2 months you will get the money. The format of the application is given below.
