Process to Apply Exempted Fast Tag

To apply for Exempted FASTag, the National Highway Authority of India has created a separate website on which Eligible Persons can apply for Exempted FASTag. Click here to visit the website. After clicking here, you will visit the website of NHAI, whose home page is given in the photo below.

In this you have to click on the first photo which is marked with red color. After that the next page will open in which details have been asked for login. That page is for already registered user and is used to login after creating an account. As shown in the photo below, you have to click on New User Registration.

After clicking on New User Registration, a new page will open on which you will get the option to open your account. On this page you have to enter your full name, email id, mobile number and city and then submit.

After submission, your account will be created and your login id and password will be sent to your registered email address. You can login to the account using this id and password. After login you have to download the application form.

After that you have to click on the option of Upload Form and choose the regional center of NHAI under which your city comes. After that you have to choose the exempted category which will be the defense category. After that enter the registration number of your vehicle for which you want to create exempted fast tag. After taking this action, scan and upload the documents given below.

• Complete Application Form.
• Vehicle's RC.
• Identity Proof like Aadhar Card, Voter Card etc.
• Proof of toll tax waiver.

After that submit the application by clicking on the submit button. After submission, you will receive a confirmation email on the registered email id in which you will also get the application number using which you can also check the status of the application. The documents are verified after the application is submitted. If any deficiency is found in it, it is informed to the user by email. Once the documents are verified, when the exempted FASTag is approved, the user receives a call from NHAI in which they issue the FASTag using the OTP received on your mobile number.
