The Union Cabinet on Friday approved the increase in the dearness allowance of central government employees and pensioners. This decision has been taken by the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Sharing this information in a press conference, I&B Minister Shri Anurag Thakur said that the Union Cabinet has decided to increase the DA of all central employees and pensioners by 4%.
After the 4% increase in DA, the total DA of central employees will increase from 38% to 42%. For your information, let us tell you that this increase will be applicable from January 1, 2023 and central employees and pensioners will be given arrears of DA of 3 months. The revision of dearness allowance will benefit 47.58 lakh central government employees and 69.76 lakh pensioners, including defense serving personnel and pensioners.
For your information, let us tell you that the revision of dearness allowance is done twice a year in the months of January and July. After this revision, the next revision will be done in the month of July.
